Tebex troubleshooting and questions

What each message means, what is stored, and the usual questions.

Messages

  • Tebex did not accept the secret key: the key is wrong, or it is for another webstore. Paste the secret key again.
  • Tebex does not know that: Tebex did not recognise the username or transaction ID. Check it, or use a transaction ID from the customer's receipt (it starts with tbx-). Stores for some games identify customers differently, and a transaction ID always works.
  • Tebex is asking webticketer to slow down: wait a minute.
  • webticketer could not reach Tebex or Tebex took too long to answer: Tebex or the connection is struggling. The ticket is not affected; try again shortly.
  • The saved key could not be opened: paste the secret key again and save.
  • No Tebex purchases section at all: the connection is off, the server is not premium, the operators have it switched off, or the ticket is not a Discord member's own.

What is stored

Purchases are read from Tebex when staff look at a member and are not stored: only the link (the member's Discord account, the Tebex username or UUID, who made the link and when) and your encrypted key. A member can remove their own link with /linktebex unlink:True, and Delete my data removes it too. You are responsible for having a reason to look at your customers' purchases in this way and for telling them.

Limits and questions

  • It shows the latest ten payments Tebex lists for the customer, and the packages that have not expired. Purchase data is kept for a minute in between, so a payment just made can take a minute to show.
  • It appears on the ticket of the member who opened it, not for people invited into it, and not on tickets that came from WHMCS.
  • A member has one Tebex link per server.

Can I connect more than one store? One per server for now.

Does the member know staff can see this? Only if you tell them. The privacy policy says that a server's staff can see a linked member's purchases.
